It is recommended to offer a prayer of fourteen units and to recite Surah al-Faatehah once, Ayah al-Kursi once, and Surah al-Tawheed three times at each unit. The reward of offering each unit of this prayer is as same as the reward of forty-year worship as well as the reward of each and every one who has observed fasting and offered prayers in this month.

Holy Prophet Muhammad (saw)O People! The month of Allah (Ramadhan) has approached you with His mercy and blessings. This is the month that is the best of all months in the estimation of Allah. Its days are the best among the days; its nights are the best among the nights. Its hours are the best among the hours.

سَلامُ اللّٰهِ وَ سَلامُ مَلائِكَتِهِ الْمُقَرَّبِينَ وَ اَنْبِيَائِهِ الْمُرْسَلِينَ وَ عِبَادِهِ الصَّالِحِينَ وَ جَمِيعِ الشُّهَدَاءِ وَ الصِّدِّيقِينَ [وَ] الزَّاكِيَاتُ الطَّيِّبَاتُ فِيمَا تَغْتَدِي وَ تَرُوحُ عَلَيْكَ يَا ابْنَ اَمِيرِ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ اَشْهَدُ لَكَ بِالتَّسْلِيمِ وَ التَّصْدِيقِ وَ الْوَفَاءِ وَ النَّصِيحَةِ لِخَلَفِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللّٰهُ عَلَيْهِ وَ آلِهِ الْمُرْسَلِ وَ السِّبْطِ الْمُنْتَجَبِ وَ الدَّلِيلِ الْعَالِمِ وَ الْوَصِيِّ الْمُبَلِّغِ وَ الْمَظْلُومِ الْمُهْتَضَمِ فَجَزَاكَ اللّٰهُ عَنْ رَسُولِهِ وَ عَنْ اَمِيرِ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ وَ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ وَ الْحُسَيْنِ صَلَوَاتُ اللّٰهِ عَلَيْهِمْ اَفْضَلَ الْجَزَاءِ بِمَا صَبَرْتَ، وَ احْتَسَبْتَ وَ اَعَنْتَ فَنِعْمَ عُقْبَى الدَّارِ لَعَنَ اللّٰهُ مَنْ قَتَلَكَ وَ لَعَنَ اللّٰهُ مَنْ جَهِلَ حَقَّكَ وَ اسْتَخَفَّ بِحُرْمَتِكَ وَ لَعَنَ اللّٰهُ مَنْ حَالَ بَيْنَكَ وَ بَيْنَ مَاءِ الْفُرَاتِ اَشْهَدُ اَنَّكَ قُتِلْتَ مَظْلُوما وَ اَنَّ اللّٰهَ مُنْجِزٌ لَكُمْ مَا وَعَدَكُمْ جِئْتُكَ يَا ابْنَ اَمِيرِ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ وَافِدا اِلَيْكُمْ وَ قَلْبِي مُسَلِّمٌ لَكُمْ وَ تَابِعٌ وَ اَنَا لَكُمْ تَابِعٌ وَ نُصْرَتِي لَكُمْ مُعَدَّةٌ حَتَّى يَحْكُمَ اللّٰهُ وَ هُوَ خَيْرُ الْحَاكِمِينَ فَمَعَكُمْ مَعَكُمْ لا مَعَ عَدُوِّكُمْ اِنِّي بِكُمْ وَ بِاِيَابِكُمْ [وَ بِآبَائِكُمْ] مِنَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ وَ بِمَنْ خَالَفَكُمْ وَ قَتَلَكُمْ مِنَ الْكَافِرِينَ قَتَلَ اللّٰهُ اُمَّةً قَتَلَتْكُمْ بِالْاَيْدِي وَ الْاَلْسُنِ.

Shabaan is a month of high excellence and is dedicated to the Leader of the Prophets (saaw). He used to keep fasts during this month and join it with the month of Ramadhan. He used to say, “Sha’baan is a month dedicated to me. Whoever keeps one fast during my month will definitely go to heaven”.

In this period of time one’s efforts and attempts are more rewarded and the journey towards Allah gets quicker. The scent of divinity and the tune of the Quran are spread everywhere. “Whoever fasts one day of Shaban, just for the sake of God’s reward he will enter the heaven and whoever repents to Allah seventy times, on the Day of Judgment he will be raised with the Prophet and God’s appreciation will be obligatory on him. Whoever donates in this month even by half of a date, God will forbid his body to go to hell. Whoever fasts three days of Shaban and connects these days to the month of Ramadan, God will give him the reward for the two complete months”

Hazret Fatimeh Masumeh (A) the Blessed and the Gracious Divine Lady from the Holy Ahlul Bayt (A) was born in the holy city of Madinah on the First Day of the month of Zee Qa'dah 173 A.H. The month of Muharram is the month of sadness for the Ahl al-Bayt (`a) and their followers. In this respect, Imam al-Raza (`a) is reported to have said, “With the beginning of Muharram, my father (`a) would never smile at all. He would be dominated by depression for ten days. The tenth of this month would be the day of his misfortune, sadness, and weeping. He used to say that on this day Imam al-Husayn (`a) was slain.”

Eid ul-Adha or Festival of Sacrifice is in commemoration of the sacrifices of Abraham and his family. All the other Muslims in the world join the hajjis (pilgrims) in Mecca, in celebrating the Eid ul Adha (Festival of Sacrifice), marking the end of the pilgrimage. On the 10th of Dhul-Hijjah, Muslims around the world wear their nicest clothing and attend a special prayer gathering in the morning. This is followed by a short sermon, after which everyone stands up to hug and greet one another. Next, people visit each other"s homes and partake in festive meals with special dishes, beverages, and desserts. Children receive gifts and sweets on this joyous occasion.

The most important thing that can be done on this day is to Understand the greatness of the night and day of the 27th of Rajab.
There is no person greater or higher in rank than the Messenger of Allah (blessings of Allah be upon him and his progeny).
