Prophets Ibrahim, Ismail and Ishaq (a.s)

[2:124] And when his Lord tried Ibrahim with certain words, he fulfilled them. He said: Surely I will make you an Imam of men. Ibrahim said: And of my offspring? My covenant does not include the unjust, said He.

[2:125] And when We made the House a pilgrimage for men and a (place of) security, and: Appoint for yourselves a place of prayer on the standing-place of Ibrahim. And We enjoined Ibrahim and Ismail saying: Purify My House for those who visit (it) and those who abide (in it) for devotion and those who bow down (and) those who prostrate themselves.

[2:126] And when Ibrahim said: My Lord, make it a secure town and provide its people with fruits, such of them as believe in Allah and the last day. He said: And whoever disbelieves, I will grant him enjoyment for a short while, then I will drive him to the chastisement of the fire; and it is an evil destination.

[2:127] And when Ibrahim and Ismail raised the foundations of the House: Our Lord! Accept from us; surely Thou art the Hearing, the Knowing:

[2:128] Our Lord! And make us both submissive to Thee and (raise) from our offspring a nation submitting to Thee, and show us our ways of devotion and turn to us (mercifully), surely Thou art the Oft-returning (to mercy), the Merciful.

[2:129] Our Lord! And raise up in them a Messenger from among them who shall recite to them Thy communications and teach them the Book and the wisdom, and purify them; surely Thou art the Mighty, the Wise.

[2:130] And who forsakes the religion of Ibrahim but he who makes himself a fool, and most certainly We chose him in this world, and in the hereafter he is most surely among the righteous.

[2:131] When his Lord said to him, Be a Muslim, he said: I submit myself to the Lord of the worlds.

[2:135] And they say: Be Jews or Christians, you will be on the right course. Say: Nay! (We follow) the religion of Ibrahim, the Hanif, and he was not one of the polytheists.

[2:258] Have you not considered him (Namrud) who disputed with Ibrahim about his Lord, because Allah had given him the kingdom? When Ibrahim said: My Lord is He who gives life and causes to die, he said: I give life and cause death. Ibrahim said: So surely Allah causes the sun to rise from the east, then make it rise from the west; thus he who disbelieved was confounded; and Allah does not guide aright the unjust people.

[2:260] And when Ibrahim said: My Lord! Show me how Thou givest life to the dead, He said: What! And do you not believe? He said: Yes, but that my heart may be at ease. He said: Then take four of the birds, then train them to follow you, then place on every mountain a part of them, then call them, they will come to you flying; and know that Allah is Mighty, Wise.

[3:67] Ibrahim was not a Jew nor a Christian but he was (an) upright (man), a Muslim, and he was not one of the polytheists.

[3:68] Most surely the nearest of people to Ibrahim are those who followed him and this Prophet and those who believe and Allah is the guardian of the believers.

[3:95] Say: Allah has spoken the truth, therefore follow the religion of Ibrahim, the upright one; and he was not one of the polytheists.

[4:54] Or do they envy the people for what Allah has given them of His grace? But indeed We have given to Ibrahim's children the Book and the wisdom, and We have given them a grand kingdom.

[4:125] And who has a better religion than he who submits himself entirely to Allah? And he is the doer of good (to others) and follows the faith of Ibrahim, the upright one, and Allah took Ibrahim as a friend.

[6:74] And when Ibrahim said to his sire, Azar: Do you take idols for gods? Surely I see you and your people in manifest error.

[6:75] And thus did We show Ibrahim the kingdom of the heavens and the earth and that he might be of those who are sure.

6:76] So when the night overshadowed him, he saw a star; said he: Is this my Lord? So when it set, he said: I do not love the setting ones.

[6:77] Then when he saw the moon rising, he said: Is this my Lord? So when it set, he said: If my Lord had not guided me I should certainly be of the erring people.

[6:78] Then when he saw the sun rising, he said: Is this my Lord? Is this the greatest? So when it set, he said: O my people! Surely I am clear of what you set up (with Allah).

[6:79] Surely I have turned myself, being upright, wholly to Him Who originated the heavens and the earth, and I am not of the polytheists.

[6:80] And his people disputed with him. He said: Do you dispute with me respecting Allah? And He has guided me indeed; and I do not fear in any way those that you set up with Him, unless my Lord pleases; my Lord comprehends all things in His knowledge; will you not then mind?

[6:81] And how should I fear what you have set up (with Him), while you do not fear that you have set up with Allah that for which He has not sent down to you any authority; which then of the two parties is surer of security, if you know?

[6:82] Those who believe and do not mix up their faith with iniquity, those are they who shall have the security and they are those who go aright.

[6:83] And this was Our argument which we gave to Ibrahim against his people; We exalt in dignity whom We please; surely your Lord is Wise, Knowing.

[9:114] And Ibrahim asking forgiveness for his sire was only owing to a promise which he had made to him; but when it became clear to him that he was an enemy of Allah, he declared himself to be clear of him; most surely Ibrahim was very tender hearted forbearing.

[11:69] And certainly Our messengers came to Ibrahim with good news. They said: Peace. Peace, said he, and he made no delay in bringing a roasted calf.

[11:70] But when he saw that their hands were not extended towards it, he deemed them strange and conceived fear of them. They said: Fear not, surely we are sent to Lut's people.

[11:71] And his wife was standing (by), so she laughed, then We gave her the good news of Ishaq and after Ishaq of (a son's son) Yaqoub.

[11:72] She said: O wonder! Shall I bear a son when I am an extremely old woman and this my husband an extremely old man? Most surely this is a wonderful thing.

[11:73] They said: Do you wonder at Allah's bidding? The mercy of Allah and His blessings are on you, O people of the house, surely He is Praised, Glorious.

[11:75] Most surely Ibrahim was forbearing, tender hearted, oft-returning (to Allah):

[14:35] And when Ibrahim said: My Lord! Make this city secure, and save me and my sons from worshipping idols:

[14:36] My Lord! Surely they have led many men astray; then whoever follows me, he is surely of me, and whoever disobeys me, Thou surely art Forgiving, Merciful:

[14:37] O our Lord! Surely I have settled a part of my offspring in a valley unproductive of fruit near Thy Sacred House, our Lord! That they may keep up prayer; therefore make the hearts of some people yearn to- wards them and provide them with fruits; haply they may be grateful:

[14:38] O our Lord! Surely Thou knows what we hide and what we make public, and nothing in the earth nor any thing in heaven is hidden from Allah:

[14:39] Praise be to Allah, Who has given me in old age Ismail and Ishaq; most surely my Lord is the Hearer of prayer:

[15:51] And inform them of the guests of Ibrahim:

[15:52] When they entered upon him, they said, Peace. He said: Surely we are afraid of you.

[15:53] They said: Be not afraid, surely we give you the good news of a boy, possessing knowledge.

[15:54] He said: Do you give me good news (of a son) when old age has come upon me? Of what then do you give me good news!

[15:55] They said: We give you good news with truth, therefore be not of the despairing.

[15:56] He said: And who despairs of the mercy of his Lord but the erring ones?

[15:57] He said: What is your business then, O messengers?

[15:58] They said: Surely we are sent towards a guilty people,

[16:120] Surely Ibrahim was an exemplar, obedient to Allah, upright, and he was not of the polytheists.

[16:121] Grateful for His favors; He chose him and guided him on the right path.

[16:122] And We gave him good in this world, and in the next he will most surely be among the good.

[16:123] Then We revealed to you (Muhammad): Follow the faith of Ibrahim, the upright one, and he was not of the polytheists.

[19:41] And mention Ibrahim in the Book; surely he was a truthful man, a prophet.

[19:42] When he said to his father; O my father! Why do you worship what neither hears nor sees, nor does it avail you in the least:

[19:43] O my father! Truly the knowledge has come to me which has not come to you, therefore follow me, I will guide you on a right path:

[19:44] O my father! Serve not the Shaitan, surely the Shaitan is disobedient to the Beneficent Allah:

[19:45] O my father! Surely I fear that a punishment from the Beneficent Allah should afflict you so that you should be a friend of the Shaitan.

[19:46] He said: Do you dislike my gods, O Ibrahim? If you do not desist I will certainly revile you, and leave me for a time.

[19:47] He said: Peace be on you, I will pray to my Lord to forgive you; surely He is ever Affectionate to me:

[19:48] And I will withdraw from you and what you call on besides Allah, and I will call upon my Lord; maybe I shall not remain unblessed in calling upon my Lord.

[19:49] So when he withdrew from them and what they worshipped besides Allah, We gave to him Ishaq and Yaqoub, and each one of them We made a prophet.

[19:50] And We granted to them of Our mercy, and We left (behind them) a truthful mention of eminence for them.

[19:54] And mention Ismail in the Book; surely he was truthful in (his) promise, and he was a messenger, a prophet.

[19:55] And he enjoined on his family prayer and almsgiving, and was one in whom his Lord was well pleased.

[21:51] And certainly We gave to Ibrahim his rectitude before, and We knew him fully well.

[21:52] When he said to his father and his people: What are these images to whose worship you cleave?

[21:53] They said: We found our fathers worshipping them.

[21:54] He said: Certainly you have been, (both) you and your fathers, in manifest error.

[21:55] They said: Have you brought to us the truth, or are you one of the triflers?

[21:56] He said: Nay! Your Lord is the Lord of the heavens and the earth, Who brought them into existence, and I am of those who bear wit- ness to this:

[21:57] And, by Allah! I will certainly do something against your idols after you go away, turning back.

[21:58] So he broke them into pieces, except the chief of them, that haply they may return to it.

[21:59] They said: Who has done this to our gods? Most surely he is one of the unjust.

[21:60] They said: We heard a youth called Ibrahim speak of them.

[21:61] Said they: Then bring him before the eyes of the people, perhaps they may bear witness.

[21:62] They said: Have you done this to our gods, O Ibrahim?

[21:63] He said: Surely (some doer) has done it; the chief of them is this, therefore ask them, if they can speak.

[21:64] Then they turned to themselves and said: Surely you yourselves are the unjust;

[21:65] Then they were made to hang down their heads: Certainly you know that they do not speak.

[21:66] He said: What! Do you then serve besides Allah what brings you not any benefit at all, nor does it harm you? [

21:67] Fie on you and on what you serve besides Allah; what! Do you not then understand?

[21:68] They said: Burn him and help your gods, if you are going to do (anything).

[21:69] We said: O fire! Be a comfort and peace to Ibrahim;

[21:70] And they desired a war on him, but We made them the greatest losers.

[21:71] And We delivered him as well as Lut (removing them) to the land which We had blessed for all people.

[21:72] And We gave him Ishaq and Yaqoub, a son's son, and We made (them) all good.

[21:73] And We made them Imams who guided (people) by Our command, and We revealed to them the doing of good and the keeping up of prayer and the giving of the alms, and Us (alone) did they serve;

[26:68] And most surely your Lord is the Mighty, the Merciful.

[26:69] And recite to them the story of Ibrahim.

[26:70] When he said to his father and his people: What do you worship?

[26:71] They said: We worship idols, so we shall be their votaries.

[26:72] He said: Do they hear you when you call?

[26:73] Or do they profit you or cause you harm?

[26:74] They said: Nay, we found our fathers doing so.

[26:75] He said: Have you then considered what you have been worshipping:

[26:76] You and your ancient sires.

[26:77] Surely they are enemies to me, but not (so) the Lord of the worlds;

[26:78] Who created me, then He has shown me the way:

[26:79] And He Who gives me to eat and gives me to drink:

[26:80] And when I am sick, then He restores me to health

[26:81] And He Who will cause me to die, then give me life;

[26:82] And Who, I hope, will forgive me my mistakes on the Day of Judgment.

[26:86] And forgive my father, for surely he is of those who have gone astray;

[29:16] And (We sent) Ibrahim, when he said to his people: Serve Allah and be careful of (your duty to) Him; this is best for you, if you did but know:

[29:17] You only worship idols besides Allah and you create a lie surely they whom you serve besides Allah do not control for you any sustenance, therefore seek the sustenance from Allah and serve Him and be grateful to Him; to Him you shall be brought back.

[29:18] And if you reject (the truth), nations before you did indeed reject (the truth); and nothing is incumbent on the messenger but a plain delivering (of the message).

[29:24] So naught was the answer of his people except that they said: Slay him (Ibrahim) or burn him; then Allah delivered him from the fire; most surely there are signs in this for a people who believe.

[29:25] And he said: You have only taken for yourselves idols besides Allah by way of friendship between you in this world's life, then on the resurrection day some of you shall deny others, and some of you shall curse others, and your abode is the fire, and you shall not have any helpers.

[29:26] And Lut believed in Him, and he said: I am fleeing to my Lord, surely He is the Mighty, the Wise.

[29:27] And We granted him Ishaq and Yaqoub, and gave them prophethood and the book to remain in his seed, and We gave him his reward in this world, and in the hereafter he will most surely be among the good.

[37:83] And most surely Ibrahim followed his way.

[37:84] When he came to his Lord with a free heart,

[37:85] When he said to his father and his people: What is it that you worship?

[37:86] A lie, gods besides Allah, do you desire?

[37:87] What is then your idea about the Lord of the worlds?

[37:88] Then he looked at the stars, looking up once,

[37:89] Then he said: Surely I am sick (of your worshipping these).

[37:90] So they went away from him, turning back.

[37:91] Then he turned aside to their gods secretly and said: What! Do you not eat?

[37:92] What is the matter with you that you do not speak?

[37:93] Then he turned against them secretly, smiting them with the right hand.

[37:94] So they (people) advanced towards him, hastening. [37:95] Said he: What! Do you worship what you hew out?

[37:96] And Allah has created you and what you make.

[37:97] They said: Build for him a furnace, then cast him into the burn- ing fire.

[37:98] And they desired a war against him, but We brought them low.

[37:99] And he said: Surely I fly to my lord; He will guide me.

[37:100] My Lord! Grant me of the doers of good deeds.

[37:101] So We gave him the good news of a boy (Ismail), possessing forbearance.

[37:102] And when he attained to working with him, he said: O my son! Surely I have seen in a dream that I should sacrifice you; consider then what you see. He said: O my father! Do what you are commanded; if Allah please, you will find me of the patient ones.

[37:103] So when they both submitted and he threw him down upon his forehead,

[37:104] And We called out to him saying: O Ibrahim!

[37:105] You have indeed shown the truth of the vision; surely thus do We reward the doers of good:

[37:106] Most surely this is a manifest trial.

[37:107] And We ransomed him with a Feat sacrifice (of Kerbala).

[37:108] And We perpetuated (praise) to him among the later generations.

[37:109] Peace be on Ibrahim.

[37:110] Thus do We reward the doers of good.

[37:111] Surely he was one of Our believing servants.

[37:112] And We gave him the good news of Ishaq, a prophet among the good ones.

[37:113] And We showered Our blessings on him and on Ishaq; and of their offspring are the doers of good, and (also) those who are clearly unjust to their own souls.

[38:45] And remember Our servants Ibrahim and Ishaq and Yaqoub, men of power and insight.

[38:46] Surely We purified them by a pure quality, the keeping in mind of the (final) abode.

[38:47] And most surely they were with Us, of the elect, the best.

[38:48] And remember Ismail and Al-Yasha and Zulkifl; and they were all of the best.

[38:49] This is a reminder; and most surely there is an excellent resort for those who guard (against evil),

[43:26] And when Ibrahim said to his father and his people: Surely I am clear of what you worship,

[43:27] Save Him Who created me, for surely He will guide me.

[43:28] And he made it (Tauheed) a word to continue in his posterity that they may return.

[51:24] Has there come to you information about the honored guests of Ibrahim?

[51:25] When they entered upon him, they said: Peace. Peace, said he, a strange people.

[51:26] Then he turned aside to his family secretly and brought a fat (roasted) calf,

[51:27] So he brought it near them. He said: What! Will you not eat?

[51:28] So he conceived in his mind a fear on account of them. They said: Fear not. And they gave him the good news of a boy possessing knowledge.

[51:29] Then his wife came up in great grief, and she struck her face and said: An old barren woman!

[51:30] They said: Thus says your Lord: Surely He is the Wise, the Knowing.

[60:4] Indeed, there is for you a good example in Ibrahim and those with him when they said to their people: Surely we are clear of you and of what you serve besides Allah; we declare ourselves to be clear of you, and enmity and hatred have appeared between us and you forever until you believe in Allah alone, but not in what Ibrahim said to his father: I would certainly ask forgiveness for you, and I do not control for you aught from Allah, Our Lord! On Thee do we rely, and to Thee do we turn, and to Thee is the eventual coming:

Prophet Idris (a.s)

[19:56] And mention Idris in the Book; surely he was a truthful man, a prophet,

[19:57] And We raised him high in Heaven.

Prophet Ilyas (a.s)

[37:123] And Ilyas was most surely of the messengers.

[37:124] When he said to his people: Do you not guard (against evil)?

[37:125] What! do you call upon Ba'l and forsake the best of the creators,

[37:126] Allah, your Lord and the Lord of your fathers of yore?

[37:127] But they called him a liar, therefore they shall most surely be brought up.

[37:128] But not the servants of Allah, the purified ones.

[37:129] And We perpetuated to him (praise) among the later generations.

[37:130] Peace be on Ilyas.

[37:131] Even thus do We reward the doers of good.

[37:132] Surely he was one of Our believing servants.

Inheritance

[2:180] Bequest is prescribed for you when death approaches one of you, if he leaves behind wealth for parents and near relatives, according to usage, a duty (incumbent) upon those who guard (against evil).

[2:182] But he who fears an inclination to a wrong course or an act of disobedience on the part of the testator, and effects an agreement between the parties, there is no blame on him. Surely Allah is Forgiving, Merciful.

[4:7] Men shall have a portion of what the parents and the near relatives leave, and women shall have a portion of what the parents and the near relatives leave, whether there is little or much of it; a stated portion.

[4:8] And when there are present at the division the relatives and the orphans and the needy, give them (something) out of it and speak to them kind words.

[4:9] And let those fear who, should they leave behind them weakly offspring, would fear on their account, so let them be careful of (their duty to) Allah, and let them speak right words.

[4:11] Allah enjoins you concerning your children: The male shall have the equal of the portion of two females; then if they are more than two females, they shall have two thirds of what the deceased has left, and if there is one, she shall have the half; and as for his parents, each of them shall have the sixth of what he has left if he has a child, but if he has no child and (only) his two parents inherit him, then his mother shall have the third; but if he has brothers, then his mother shall have the sixth after (the payment of) a bequest he may have bequeathed or a debt; your parents and your children, you know not which of them is the nearer to you in usefulness; this is an ordinance from Allah: Surely Allah is Knowing, Wise.

[4:12] And you shall have half of what your wives leave if they have no child, but if they have a child, then you shall have a fourth of what they leave after (payment of) any bequest they may have bequeathed or a debt; and they shall have the fourth of what you leave if you have no child, but if you have a child then they shall have the eighth of what you leave after (payment of) a bequest you may have bequeathed or a debt; and if a man or a woman leaves property to be inherited by neither parents nor offspring, and he (or she) has a brother or a sister, then each of them two shall have the sixth, but if they are more than that, they shall be sharers in the third after (payment of) any bequest that may have been bequeathed or a debt that does not harm (others); this is an ordinance from Allah: and Allah is Knowing, Forbearing.

[4:13] These are Allah's limits, and whoever obeys Allah and His Messenger, He will cause him to enter gardens beneath which rivers flow, to abide in them; and this is the great achievement.

[4:33] And to every one We have appointed heirs of what parents and near relatives leave; and as to those with whom your rights hands have ratified agreements, give them their portion; surely Allah is a witness over all things.

[4:176] They ask you for a decision of the law. Say: Allah gives you a decision concerning the person who has neither parents nor offspring; if a man dies (and) he has no son and he has a sister, she shall have half of what he leaves, and he shall be her heir she has no son; but if there be two (sisters), they shall have two thirds of what he leaves; and if there are brethren, men and women, then the male shall have the like of the portion of two females; Allah makes clear to you, lest you err; and Allah knows all things.

[5:106] O you who believe! call to witness between you when death draws nigh to one of you, at the time of making the will, two just persons from among you, or two others from among others than you, if you are travelling in the land and the calamity of death befalls you; the two (witnesses) you should detain after the prayer; then if you doubt (them), they shall both swear by Allah, (saying): We will not take for it a price, though there be a relative, and we will not hide the testimony of Allah for then certainly we should be among the sinners.

[5:107] Then if it becomes known that they both have been guilty of a sin, two others shall stand up in their place from among those who have a claim against them, the two nearest in kin; so they two should swear by Allah: Certainly our testimony is truer than the testimony of those two, and we have not exceeded the limit, for them most surely we should be of the unjust.

[5:108] This is more proper in order that they should give testimony truly or fear that other oaths be given after their oaths; and be careful of (your duty to) Allah, and hear; and Allah does not guide the transgressing people.

Intoxicants and Games of Chance

[2:219] They ask you about intoxicants and games of chance. Say: In both of them there is a great sin and means of profit for men, and their sin is greater than their profit. And they ask you as to what they should spend. Say: What you can spare. Thus does Allah make clear to you the communications, that you may ponder

[5:90] O you who believe! Intoxicants and games of chance and (sacrificing to) stones set up and (dividing by) arrows are only an un- cleanness, the Shaitan's work; shun it therefore that you may be successful.

[5:91] The Shaitan only desires to cause enmity and hatred to spring in your midst by means of intoxicants and games of chance, and to keep you off from the remembrance of Allah and from prayer. Will you then desist?

Prophet Isa and Maryam (a.s)

[3:35] When a woman of Imran said: My Lord! Surely I vow to Thee what is in my womb, to be devoted (to Thy service); accept therefore from me, surely Thou art the Hearing, the Knowing.

[3:36] So when she brought forth, she said: My Lord! Surely I have brought it forth a female, and Allah knew best what she brought forth, and the male is not like the female, and I have named it Maryam, and I commend her and her offspring into Thy protection from the accursed Shaitan.

[3:37] So her Lord accepted her with a good acceptance and made her grow up a good growing, and gave her into the charge of Zakariya; whenever Zakariya entered the sanctuary to (see) her, he found with her food. He said: O Maryam! Whence comes this to you? She said: It is from Allah. Surely Allah gives to whom He pleases without measure.

[3:42] And when the angels said: O Maryam! Surely Allah has chosen you and purified you and chosen you above the women of of the world.

[3:43] O Maryam! Keep to obedience to your Lord and humble yourself, and bow down with those who bow.

[3:44] This is of the announcements relating to the unseen which We reveal to you; and you were not with them when they cast their pens (to decide) which of them should have Maryam in his charge, and you were not with them when they contended one with another.

[3:45] When the angels said: O Maryam, surely Allah gives you good news with a Word from Him (of one) whose name is the Messiah, Isa son of Maryam, worthy of regard in this world and the hereafter and of those who are made near (to Allah).

[3:46] And he shall speak to the people when in the cradle and when of old age, and (he shall be) one of the good ones.

[3:47] She said: My Lord! When shall there be a son (born) to I me, and man has not touched me? He said: Even so, Allah creates what He pleases; when He has decreed a matter, He only says to it, be, and it is.

[3:48] And He will teach him the Book and the wisdom and the Taurat and the Injeel.

[3:49] And (make him) a messenger to the children of Israel: That I have come to you with a sign from your Lord, that I determine for you out of dust like the form of a bird, then I breathe into it and it becomes a bird with Allah's permission and I heal the blind and the leprous, and bring the dead to life with Allah's permission and I inform you of what you should eat and what you should store in your houses; most surely there is a sign in this for you, if you are believers.

[3:50] And a verifier of that which is before me of the Taurat and that I may allow you part of that which has been forbidden to you, and I have come to you with a sign from your Lord therefore be careful of (your duty to) Allah and obey me.

[3:51] Surely Allah is my Lord and your Lord, therefore serve Him; this is the right path.

[3:52] But when Isa perceived unbelief on their part, he said Who will be my helpers in Allah's way? The disciples said: We are helpers (in the way) of Allah: We believe in Allah and bear witness that we are submitting ones.

[3:53] Our Lord! We believe in what Thou hast revealed and we follow the messenger, so write us down with those who bear witness.

[3:54] And they planned and Allah (also) planned, and Allah is the best of planners.

[3:55] And when Allah said: O Isa, I am going to terminate the period of your stay (on earth) and cause you to ascend unto Me and purify you of those who disbelieve and make those who follow you above those who disbelieve to the day of resurrection; then to Me shall be your re- turn, so l will decide between you concerning that in which you differed.

[3:59] Surely the likeness of Isa is with Allah as the likeness of Adam; He created him from dust, then said to him, Be, and he was.

[4:157] And their saying: Surely we have killed the Messiah, Isa son of Maryam, the messenger of Allah; and they did not kill him nor did they crucify him, but it appeared to them so (like Isa) and most surely those who differ therein are only in a doubt about it; they have no knowledge respecting it, but only follow a conjecture, and they killed him not for sure.

[4:158] Nay! Allah took him up to Himself; and Allah is Mighty, Wise.

[4:159] And there is not one of the followers of the Book but most certainly believes in this before his death, and on the day of resurrection he (Isa) shall be a witness against them.

[4:172] The Messiah does by no means disdain that he should be a servant of Allah, nor do the angels who are near to Him, and whoever disdains His service and is proud, He will gather them all together to Himself.

[5:17] Certainly they disbelieve who say: Surely, Allah, He is the Messiah, son of Maryam. Say: Who then could control anything as against Allah when He wished to destroy the Messiah son of Maryam and his mother and all those on the earth? And Allah's is the kingdom of the heavens and the earth and what is between them; He creates what He pleases; and Allah has power over all things,

[5:46] And We sent after them in their footsteps Isa, son of Maryam, verifying what was before him of the Taurat and We gave him the Injeel in which was guidance and light, and verifying what was before it of Taurat and a guidance and an admonition for those who guard (against evil).

[5:72] Certainly they disbelieve who say: Surely Allah, He is the Messiah, son of Maryam; and the Messiah said: O Children of Israel! Serve Allah, my Lord and your Lord. Surely whoever associates (others) with Allah, then Allah has forbidden to him the garden, and his abode is the fire; and there shall be no helpers for the unjust.

[5:73] Certainly they disbelieve who say: Surely Allah is the third (person) of the three; and there is no god but the one Allah, and if they desist not from what they say, a painful chastisement shall befall those among them who disbelieve.

[5:75] The Messiah, son of Maryam is but a messenger; messengers before him have indeed passed away; and his mother was a truthful wo- man; they both used to eat food. See how We make the communications clear to them, then behold, how they are turned away.

[5:110] When Allah will say: O Isa son of Maryam! Remember My favor on you and on your mother, when I strengthened you I with the holy Spirit, you spoke to the people in the cradle and I when of old age, and when I taught you the Book and the wisdom and the Taurat and the Injeel; and when you determined out of clay a thing like the form of a bird by My permission, then you breathed into it and it became a bird by My permission, and you healed the blind and the leprous by My permission; and when you brought forth the dead by My permission; and when I withheld the children of Israel from you when you came to them with clear arguments, but those who disbelieved among them said: This is nothing but clear enchantment.

[5:111] And when I revealed to the disciples, saying, Believe in Me and My messenger, they said: We believe and bear witness that we submit (ourselves).

[5:112] When the disciples said: O Isa son of Maryam! Will your Lord consent to send down to us food from heaven? He said: Be careful of (your duty to) Allah if you are believers.

[5:113] They said: We desire that we should eat of it and that our hearts should be at rest, and that we may know that you have indeed spoken the truth to us and that we may be of the witnesses to it.

[5:114] Isa the son of Maryam said: O Allah, our Lord! send i down to us food from heaven which should be to us an ever-recurring happiness, to the first of us and to the last of us, and a sign from Thee, and grant us means of subsistence, and Thou art the best of the Providers.

[5:115] Allah said: Surely I will send it down to you, but whoever shall disbelieve afterwards from among you, surely I will chastise him with a chastisement with which I will not chastise, anyone among the nations.

[5:116] And when Allah will say: O Isa son of Maryam! did you say to men, Take me and my mother for two gods besides Allah he will say: Glory be to Thee, it did not befit me that I should say what I had no right to (say); if I had said it, Thou wouldst indeed have known it; Thou knows what is in my mind, and I do not know what is in Thy mind, surely Thou art the great Knower of the unseen things.

[5:117] I did not say to them aught save what Thou didst enjoin me with: That serve Allah, my Lord and your Lord, and I was a witness of them so long as I was among them, but when Thou didst cause me to die, Thou wert the watcher over them, and Thou art witness of all things.

[5:118] If Thou shouldst chastise them, then surely they are Thy servants; and if Thou shouldst forgive them, then surely Thou art the Mighty, the Wise.

[19:16] And mention Maryam in the Book when she drew aside from her family to an eastern place;

[19:17] So she took a veil (to screen herself) from them; then We sent to her Our spirit, and there appeared to her a well-made man.

[19:18] She said: Surely I fly for refuge from you to the Beneficent Allah, if you are one guarding (against evil).

[19:19] He said: I am only a messenger of your Lord: That I will give you a pure boy.

[19:20] She said: When shall I have a boy and no mortal has yet touched me, nor have I been unchaste?

[19:21] He said: Even so; your Lord says: It is easy to Me: and that We may make him a sign to men and a mercy from Us, and it is a matter which has been decreed.

[19:22] So she conceived him; then withdrew herself with him to a remote place.

[19:23] And the throes (of childbirth) compelled her to betake herself to the trunk of a palm tree. She said: Oh, would that I had died before this, and had been a thing quite forgotten!

[19:24] Then (the child) called out to her from beneath her: Grieve not, surely your Lord has made a stream to flow beneath you;

[19:25] And shake towards you the trunk of the palm tree, it will drop on you fresh ripe dates:

[19:26] So eat and drink and refresh the eye. Then if you see any mortal, say: Surely I have vowed a fast to the Beneficent Allah, so I shall not speak to any man today.

[19:27] And she came to her people with him, carrying him (with her).

They said: O Maryam! Surely you have done a strange thing.

[19:28] O sister of Haroun! Your father was not a bad man, nor, was your mother an unchaste woman.

[19:29] But she pointed to him. They said: How should we speak to one who was a child in the cradle?

[19:30] He said: Surely I am a servant of Allah; He has given me the Book and made me a prophet;

[19:31] And He has made me blessed wherever I may be, and He has enjoined on me prayer and poor-rate so long as I live;

[19:32] And dutiful to my mother, and He has not made me insolent, unblessed;

[19:33] And peace on me on the day I was born, and on the day I die, and on the day I am raised to life.

[19:34] Such is Isa, son of Maryam; (this is) the saying of truth about which they dispute.

[21:91] And she (Maryam) who guarded her chastity, so We breathed into her of Our inspiration and made her and her son a sign for the nations.

[23:50] And We made the son of Maryam and his mother a sign, and We gave them a shelter on a lofty ground having meadows and springs.

[36:13] And set out to them an example of the people of the town (Greek city of Antioch founded by Selcucus Nicator, one of the successors of Alexander, in about 300 B.C), when the messengers (of Isa) came to it.

[36:14] When We sent to them two, they rejected both of them, then We strengthened (them) with a third, so they said: Surely we are messengers to you.

[36:15] They said: You are naught but mortals like ourselves, nor has the Beneficent Allah revealed anything; you only lie.

[36:16] They said: Our Lord knows that we are most surely messengers to you.

[36:17] And nothing devolves on us but a clear deliverance (of the message).

[36:18] They said: Surely we augur evil from you (messengers); if you do not desist, we will certainly stone you, and there shall certainly afflict you a painful chastisement from us.

[36:19] They said: Your evil fortune is with you; what! if you are reminded! Nay, you are an extravagant people.

[36:20] And from the remote part of the city there came a man (Habib al Najjar, known as the Mumin of ali Yasin) running, he said: O my people! Follow the messengers;

[36:21] Follow him who does not ask you for reward, and they are the followers of the right course;

[36:22] And what reason have I that I should not serve Him Who brought me into existence? And to Him you shall be brought back;

[36:23] What! Shall I take besides Him gods whose intercession, If the Beneficent Allah should desire to afflict me with a harm, shall not avail me aught, nor shall they be able to deliver me?

[36:24] In that case I shall most surely be in clear error:

[36:25] Surely I believe in your Lord, therefore hear me.

[36:26] It was said: Enter the garden. He said: O would that my people had known

[36:27] Of that on account of which my Lord has forgiven me and made me of the honored ones!

[36:28] And We did not send down upon his people after him any hosts from heaven, nor do We ever send down.

[36:29] It was naught but a single cry (earthquake), and lo! They (disbelievers) were still.

[43:57] And when a description of the son of Maryam is given, lo! your people raise a clamor thereat.

[43:58] And they say: Are our gods better, or is he? They do not set it forth to you save by way of disputation; nay, they are a contentious people.

[43:59] He was naught but a servant on whom We bestowed favor, and We made him an example for the children of Israel.

[43:60] And if We please, We could make among you angels to be successors in the land.

[43:61] And most surely it is a knowledge of the hour, therefore have no doubt about it and follow me: this is the right path.

[43:63] And when Isa came with clear arguments he said: I have come to you indeed with wisdom, and that I may make clear to you part of what you differ in; so be careful of (your duty to) Allah and obey me:

[43:64] Surely Allah is my Lord and your Lord, therefore serve Him; this is the right path:

[43:65] But parties from among them differed, so woe to those who were unjust because of the chastisement of a painful day.

[57:27] Then We made Our messengers to follow in their footsteps, and We sent Isa son of Maryam afterwards, and We gave him the Injeel, and We put in the hearts of those who followed him kindness and mercy; and (as for) mockery, they innovated it, We did not prescribe it to them, only to seek Allah's pleasure, but they did not observe it with its due observance; so We gave to those of them who believed their re- ward, and most of them are transgressors.

[61:6] And when Isa son of Maryam said: O children of Israel! Surely I am the messenger of Allah to you, verifying that which is before me of the Taurat and giving the good news of an Messenger who will come after me, his name being Ahmad, but when he came to them with clear arguments they said: This is clear magic.

[61:14] O you who believe! Be helpers (in the cause) of Allah, as Isa son of Maryam said to (his) disciples: Who are my helpers in the cause of Allah? The disciples said: We are helpers (in the cause) of Allah. So a party of the children of Israel believed and another party disbelieved; then We aided those who believed against their enemy, and they became uppermost.

[66:12] And Maryam, the daughter of Imran, who guarded her chastity, so We breathed into her of Our inspiration and she accepted the truth of the words of her Lord and His books, and she was of, the obedient ones.
